Our March SIMformation continues our look at Wireless networks, and we cover some potential problems to avoid that will help keep your network secure. Things like not changing default passwords, using weak authentication and misconfiguring VLANS are all mistakes often made. We also look at a new wireless spectrum, WiGig, that offers blazing speeds but the trade-off is that it can't carry long distances. But it will be good for use in conference rooms to, for example, connect PCs to projectors or allow large groups to all connect with no speed penalty. Also on the horizon is the new 5G cellular standard that also promises blazing fast speeds – like downloading an HD movie in seconds. Other topics in this issue include true Microsoft Word compatibility within Google Docs on your Android device, and a look at how Windows 7 is still hanging in as a viable operating system, powering more than 50% of all Windows devices out there.
