Our April SIMformation discusses the new "Creator Update" for Windows 10 that has been released this April. Microsoft has added several new features and has responded to complaints (especially privacy settings) in the previous incarnation of Windows 10. Windows 10 users should be seeing this update come downstream if they have Automatic Updates enabled, otherwise it is available through the Microsoft support site. Other topics in this month's SIMformation include a look at a new Ransonware attack that can "hide" in the firmware running on your PC. Also, in an interesting fact, Android has now slipped ahead of Windows as the world's most popular operating system. However, we also cover a sneaky spyware found in Android devices which seems to be used by intelligence agencies - but if they have it and hackers know about it, it could be more widespread. Finally, we look at the march to data storage in the Cloud, and how that presents some challenges as the tools used in the Cloud differ from those used in traditional database management. But experts believe that Cloud storage for data is the next best thing so companies need to be considering how best to integrate Cloud storage in the next decade.
